California Freeway

These prints are inspired by the freeways of Southern California.

While sitting in traffic is not delightful, there are times when there is no traffic and the sunlight hits the road just so . . .

It's during this time that you can really see and appreciate the grays in the concrete and the shadows cast by cars and trees . . .

For those of you who want to know the exact freeway, it's the 605 S between the 60 and the 5.

Gelli Plate Arts

I created these gift tags for a friend using my Gelli Plate.

I love the layered effect you get from using the plate.  I also used rubber stamps to finish the look.

Merry Christmas!

Creative Gratitude 2

Here is another thank you card I created.  It's an easel card that stands on its own.

This card is to express gratitude to my team mate for his support to schools and for his leadership in projects.

Creative Gratitude

Spent the day making cards and crafts with my good friends, Eunice, Leiauna and Tina.
So inspired by my creative and entrepreneurial friends!
This folder of gratitude is for a friend who gifted us tickets to Legoland.

Back to Work

I return to work tomorrow and can't wait to learn with my team throughout the school year.  I made these cute Welcome Back Jars from recycled mini condiment bottles.  All the tags and paper are from Stampin Up, including the mini pinwheel made from a die and using the Big Shot.

Is it July Already?

Apparently so!  I have no idea where June went.  All I know is that it is July and that means time for s'mores.  I found this easy, mess-free recipe online here.  They come out at serving size and aren't too sweet!

Is It June Already?

Oh my!  Where did the time go?  What was I doing in May?  I visited Lake Arrowhead with my family and enjoyed nature.

CinciCATi final

During our trip to Ohio, we hung out with animals mostly.  Thanks to my younger sister, Linda, who gave us access to penguins, elephants and cheetahs.

The boys had a great time learning about the animals and getting up close with them.  Even my husband (tough guy) was impressed and moved by all the animals and by the work Linda is doing.

The cheetah run is super cool!  It's amazing how fast and graceful they truly are.

I love my sister and am so proud of her work around conservation and education.

CinciCATi again

Visiting my sister's home is like a trip to the Natural History Museum.

I love the way she makes her home reflect her personal style, interests and tastes.

More pic tomorrow.

Reading

Love that my boys enjoy reading and reading to each other.  The ice cream cone with high frequency words is something my mentor did when she was the Principal at a primary center.  Every time my son passed a scoop, we celebrate with a trip to the ice cream shop.

Local SoCal

Visited my alma mater - Long Beach State - and was reminded of all the natural wonders the campus holds.

I love the combination of art and water against the brick buildings and the thick, strong roots of the trees.

(I can sit and stare at this leaf all day.)

Five Days of Gratitude [4]

Day 4 - Thank you small plates, seashells, pebbles, earth and succulents.  Your growth always amazes me and you remind me how delicate and hardy nature is.  Thank you life for being in my backyard.
